A light weekend snow greeted everyone Sunday morning, and a large gathering of people could be found at Vine Street Baptist Church.
The service started as Deacon Joe Gross read Psalm 25 and said a prayer. Minister of Praise and Worship, Dr. Johann Kim, talked about the Passage being packed with themes of forgiveness, salvation and teaching. Dr. Kim asked the congregation to sing together:
- How Great Thou Art
- Come, Let Us Go Up
- I Offer My Life
- Speak, O Lord
An extended time of fellowship was needed this morning because everyone wanted to welcome all the students from Great Lakes Christian College. As he began the announcement time, Pastor Ben Dockery introduced the students and asked Spenser Husch to the platform to say a few words. Husch thanked Vine Street for opening the building for them and explained that the students are spending their school’s Week of Service by helping at the Jefferson Street Mission. Pastor Ben mentioned a few other announcements and expressed some health concerns of some church members before leading a pastoral prayer.
A young member of Vine Street Baptist Church read Matthew 21:1-17 before the offertory song, “No Other Name” was sung. After the deacons passed the offering plates, the Choir Ensemble sang “Trust and Obey.”
Continuing with the Great Aspects of the Church, Pastor Ben presented the seventh message of the series.
